A new commercial agreement puts Agility Robotics’ Digit at Mercado Libre’s fulfillment facility in San Antonio, Texas. The robot will initially support e-commerce fulfillment, but the partners have not identified the specific tasks. They also plan to investigate other warehouse applications for humanoids across Latin America.

The companies have not announced how many Digit units are involved. The Robot Report also said it was unclear whether the work would be a temporary pilot or a full deployment.

Digit’s warehouse capabilities

According to The Robot Report, Digit is 5 ft 9 in tall, weighs 140 lb and can lift as much as 35 lb. It can dock and charge autonomously, and its end effectors can be customized. The publication says Digit’s Skill Library centers on tote handling, which GXO Logistics and Schaeffler have used.

Agility says live commerce operations have now used Digit to move more than 100,000 totes. The supplier presents that figure as evidence of the robot’s reliability and safety. Robotics & Automation reports that Agility designed the robot to move through existing warehouse aisles without major facility changes.

The goals and supporting systems

Mercado Libre and Agility say they will examine whether automating repetitive, physically taxing work could improve employee ergonomics, reduce labor gaps and raise productivity. Mercado Libre shipping executive Agustín Costa described the agreement as part of the company’s push for safer and more efficient logistics operations.

Agility says its ARC cloud platform manages robot fleets and connects Digit with autonomous mobile robots, conveyors and warehouse-management systems. In December 2025, The Robot Report said Digit had received OSHA-recognized Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory approval late the previous month.
