Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-08-27. This page describes, plainly, what The Humanoid Wire actually does with data — not a generic template.
Who we are
The Humanoid Wire (https://thehumanoidwire.com) is an independently run news and analysis site. Contact details are below and on our About page.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookie-free traffic measurement tool run by our hosting provider, Cloudflare. It reports which pages were loaded, roughly how many visits and page loads happened, and coarse technical details like country, browser and device type. It does not use cookies, does not store a persistent identifier tied to your browser, and does not track you across other websites. We use these aggregate numbers to see which articles readers find useful; we cannot use them to identify an individual visitor.
Cookies and local storage
We do not set tracking or advertising cookies. The only thing this site stores in your
browser is a single local preference — whether you've chosen dark or light mode — saved via
your browser's localStorage. That value stays on your device; it is never sent
to us or to any third party.
Hosting and server data
The site runs on Cloudflare Workers, with Cloudflare acting as our host and network provider. As with any website behind Cloudflare, standard connection metadata (IP address, user agent, request timing) passes through Cloudflare's network to serve each request and protect the site from abuse; we don't separately log or store this ourselves. Cloudflare's handling of that data is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
Advertising
We do not currently run any ad network or third-party advertising on this site, and no advertising cookies are set. If that changes in the future, we will update this policy first to disclose exactly what the ad provider collects — including any cookies used for personalized or non-personalized ads — and how to opt out, before any ads go live.
Email and corrections
If you email us — for a correction, a tip, or a question — we keep that correspondence only to respond to you and to improve the article in question. We don't sell or share it.
Third-party links
Articles link out to the primary sources they're based on. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control and this policy doesn't cover.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect or how we use it changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
